Sometimes, when we are feeling too rough for words, we just need to bite the bullet and head to the doctors. However, Pearl.com have revealed that 65% of Americans actively avoid going to the doctors, with 21% too embarrassed to talk to their GP about their health problems. Over half of the patients surveyed even confessed to lying to their doctors about issues such as sex, lack of exercise and drugs. 87% had pet peeves about visiting the doctor which put them off making appointments, number one on the list being waiting for ages. Two out of three patients also said they were more likely to research health information online then head to their doctors, preferring to ask Google about sex, STD’s and digestive problems.
