Why have you chosen to register with The Locum Agency? *

I have chosen this locum agency because I know I would have good support with the team when it comes to finding a suitable role

Tell me about a recent occasion when you were under pressure and handled it successfully. - What was the situation? - What actions did you take? - What was the outcome?

One time I had to deal with a patient who was getting picked up by her family and we were super busy that day. Unfortunately most of the time I can’t put the patient first before another but because of the situation would not be ideal. I had to ask the pharmacist if she could come before other patients since she would have to pay money for an Uber. She was very polite and very grateful for the service I have provided for her. In the end, she was able to take her medication and also get picked up by her family.

What is your understanding of the Medicines Act 1968?

medication that can only be sold or supplied by a pharmacist if the doctor prescribed it.

You are asked to prescribe medication which is not clearly documented within the patients notes and medical record. What should you do?

Call the doctor or GP to confirm if this is the medication needed and what’s the reason so you can take notes next time.

What steps would you take, going forward if you become aware of an incident or complaint, which you were involved or implicated in?

I would go to my line manager and speak to them about the incident and explain the information I know so they are aware.

Please outline your understanding of Clinical Governance.

the framework through which healthcare organisations are accountable for continuously improving the quality of their services and safeguarding high quality of care

Thinking about a recent difficult situation you’ve had with patient’s relatives – How did you handle this and the outcome

Unfortunately, I used to work at a community pharmacy which is high on dosette trays for nursing homes. Sometimes we won’t get an updated prescription so medication won’t be updated or missing. The patient's relative would complain about that situation so I would have to kindly explain we have not received updated medication from GP. So I have advised her to go back to the GP to send us updated prescriptions so we can give her the correct medication.
